Today we watched a video and took notes. We were identifying chemical and physical changes and reactions, phase changes, endothermic and exothermic reactions, and energy transfers. Below is teh video if you'd like to see it again.

Today we worked our way through the Energy Diagrams PhET and Lab. You will have one more class period to finish this task. Your next class period you will need to turn in today's lab and your notebook. I will be looking for your Skittles lab and yesterday's balancing equations lab in your notebooks.
Today we will be using a computer simulation program to look at balancing equations and energy diagrams.
First start with the "Balancing Chemical Equations" Lab. You will need to update your TOC. This is on page 119. There is only a class set of directions for this lab so you will need to copy the content into your IAN. It's not much. If you need another page tape it in.
Next you will begin to work with Energy Diagrams. You will need to download the the "Energy Diagram" document below and work your way through the directions. You will turn in your assignment through TEAMS.
Today we did another check in to see how you are feeling about Chemistry and Big Bang.

Once completed we went back to our Skittle lab and continued to manipulate the Skittles as a form of modeling the molecules. We should see that all we can do is rearrange the Skittles. We cannot take any away, but add more molecules (NOT atoms).
Finally we end with a helper tool: www.webqc.org/balance.php
Finally we end with a helper tool #2: www.endmemo.com/chem/balancer.php
